CANYOUSEETHEWORDS was a blog discovered by players of Everyman HYBRID during the sleep experiment videos. It started with a few posts that lacked immediate relevance outside of troubling references to arks, floods, and water, but soon became integral to the game. The blog continued to update as events unfolded, so the main pages for Everyman HYBRID will link to its posts as they occur chronologically.

FROM THE BOOK OF GENESIS

Chapters Six through Nine, King James Version:

Chapter 6 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch. And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits. A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it. And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die. But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee. And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female. Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive. And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them. Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.

Chapter 7 And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation. Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth. For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth. And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him. And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth. And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood. Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth, here went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah. And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth. In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights. In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark; They, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort. And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life. And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in. And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth. And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters. And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered. Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered. And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man: All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died. And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark. And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.

Chapter 8 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged; The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained; And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated. And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat. And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen. And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made: And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth. Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground; But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark. And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark; And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth. And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more. And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry. And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried. And God spake unto Noah, saying, Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons’ wives with thee. Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth. And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him: Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark. And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done. While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

Chapter 9 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered. Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat. And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man’s brother will I require the life of man. Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man. And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein. And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying, And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you; And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth. And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth. And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth. And the sons of Noah, that went forth of the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan. These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread. And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard: And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent. And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without. And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father’s nakedness. And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him. And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren. And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant. God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant. And Noah lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years. And all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years: and he died.

FROM THE EPIC OF GILGAMESH

The story begins:

Shurippak -a city which thou knowest, (And) which on Euphrates’ banks is set- That city was ancient, (as were) the gods within it, When their heart led the great gods to produce the flood. There were Anu, their father, Valiant Enlil, their counselor, (Note: the god of the wind) Ninurta, their herald, Ennuge, their irrigator. Ninigiku-Ea was also present with them; Their words he repeats to the reed-hut: ‘Reed-hut, reed-hut! Wall! Wall! Reed-hut, hearken! Wall, reflect! Man of Shuruppak, son of Ubar-Tutu, Tear down (this) house, build a ship! Give up possessions, seek thou life. Despise property and keep the soul alive. Aboard the ship take thou the seed of all living things. The ship that thou shalt build, Her dimensions shall be to measure. Equal shall be her width and her length. Like the Apsu thou shalt ceil her.’ I understood, and I said to Ea, my lord: 'Behold, my lord, what thou hast thus ordered, I shall be honoured to carry out. But what shall I answer the city, the people and elders?’ Ea opened his mouth to speak, Saying to me, his servant: 'Thou shalt then thus speak unto them: “I have learned that Enlil is hostile to me, (Note: the Spirit) So that I cannot reside in your city, Nor set my foot in Enlil’s territory. To the Deep I will therefore go down, To dwell with my lord Ea. But upon you he will shower down abundance, The choicest birds, the rarest fishes. The land shall have its fill of harvest riches. He who at dusk orders the hush-greens, Will shower down upon you a rain of wheat. With the first glow of dawn, The land was gathered about me. (too fragmentary for translation] The little ones carried bitumen, While the grown ones brought all else that was needful. On the fifth day I laid her framework. One (whole) acre was her floor space, (660’ X 660’) Ten dozen cubits the height of each of her walls, Ten dozen cubits each edge of the square deck. I laid out the shape of her sides and joined her together. I provided her with six decks, Dividing her (thus) into seven parts. Her floor plan I divided into nine parts. I hammered water-plugs into her. I saw to the punting-poles and laid in supplies. Six 'sar’ (measures = 8,000 gallons), of bitumen I poured into the furnace, Three sar of asphalt I also poured inside. Three sar of the basket-bearers transferred, Aside from the one sar of oil which the calking consumed, And the two sar of oil which the boatman stowed away. Bullocks I slaughtered for the people, And I killed sheep every day. Must, red wine, oil, and white wine I gave the workmen to drink, as though river water, That they might feast as on New Year’s Day… . On the seventh day the ship was completed. The launching was very difficult, So that they had to shift the floor planks above and below, Until two-thirds of the structure had gone into the water. Whatever I had I laded upon her. Whatever I had of silver I laded upon her, Whatever I had of gold I laded upon her, Whatever I had of all the living beings I laded upon her. All my family and kin I made go aboard the ship. The beasts of the field, the wild creatures of the field, All the craftsmen I made go aboard. Shamash (Sumerian sun god) had set for me a stated time: 'When he who orders unease at night Will shower down a rain of blight, Board thou the ship and batten up the gate!’ That stated time had arrived: 'He who orders unease at night showers down a rain of blight.’ I watched the appearance of the weather. The weather was awesome to behold. I boarded the ship and battened up the gate. To batten up the (whole) ship, to Puzar-Amurri, the boatman, I handed over the structure together with its contents. With the first glow of dawn, A black cloud rose up from the horizon. Inside it Adad thunders, While Shallat and Hanish go in front, Moving as heralds over hill and plain. Erragal tears out the posts; Forth comes Ninurta and causes the dikes to follow. The Anunnaki lift up the torches, Setting the land ablaze with their glare. Consternation over Adad reaches to the heavens, Turning to blackness all that had been light. The wide land was shattered like a pot! For one day the south-storm blew, Gathering speed as it blew, submerging the mountains, Overtaking the people like a battle. No one can see his fellow, Nor can the people be recognized from heaven. The gods were frightened by the deluge, And, shrinking back, they ascended to the heaven of Anu. The gods cowered like dogs Crouched against the outer wall. Ishtar cried out like a woman in travail, The sweet-voiced mistress of the gods moans aloud: 'The olden days are alas turned to clay, Because I bespoke evil in the Assembly of the gods, How could I bespeak evil in the Assembly of the gods, Ordering battle for the destruction of my people, When it is I myself who give birth to my people! Like the spawn of the fishes they fill the sea!’ The Anunnaki gods weep with her, he gods, all humbled, sit and weep, Their lips drawn tight… . one and all. Six days and six nights Blows the flood wind, as the south-storm sweeps the land. When the seventh day arrived, The flood (-carrying) south-storm subsided in the battle, Which it had fought like an army. The sea-grew quiet, the tempest was still, the flood ceased. I looked at the weather. stillness had set in, And all of mankind had returned to clay. The landscape was as level as a flat roof. I opened a hatch, and light fell on my face. Bowing low, I sat and wept, Tears running down my face. I looked about for coast lines in the expanse of the sea: In each of fourteen (regions) There emerged a region (-mountain). On Mount Nisir the ship came to a halt. Mount Nisir held the ship fast, Allowing -no motion. [For six days the ship is held fast by Mount Nisir.] When the seventh day arrived, I sent forth and set free a dove. The dove went forth, but came back; There was no resting-place for it and she turned round. Then I sent forth and set free a swallow. The swallow went forth, but came back, There was no resting-place for it and she turned round. Then I sent forth and set free a raven. The raven went forth and, seeing that the waters had diminished, He eats, circles, caws, and turns not round. Then I let out (all) to the four winds And offered a sacrifice. I poured out a libation on the top of the mountain. Seven and seven cult-vessels I set up, Upon their plate-stands I heaped cane, cedarwood, and myrtle. The gods smelled the savour, The gods smelled the sweet savour, The gods crowded like flies about the sacrificer. As soon as the great goddess arrived, She lifted up the great jewels which Anu had fashioned to her liking: 'Ye gods here, as surely as this lapis Upon my neck I shall -not forget, I shall be mindful of these days, forgetting (them) never. Let the gods come to the offering: (But) let not Enlil (wind or spirit) come to the offering, For he, unreasoning, brought on the deluge And my people consigned to destruction.’ As soon as Enlil arrived, And saw the ship, Enlil was wroth, He was filled with wrath against the Igigi gods: 'Has some living soul escaped? No man was to survive the destruction!’ Ninurta opened his mouth to speak, Saying to valiant Enlil: 'Who other than Ea can devise plans? It is Ea alone who knows every matter.’ Ea opened his mouth to speak, Saying to valiant Enlil: 'Thou wisest of the gods, thou hero, How couldst thou, unreasoning, bring on the deluge? On the sinner impose his sin, On the transgressor impose his transgression! (Yet) be lenient, lest he be cut off, Be patient, lest he be dislodged Instead of thy bringing on the deluge, Would that a lion had risen up to diminish mankind! Instead of thy brining on the deluge, Would that a wolf had risen up to diminish mankind! Instead of thy bringing on the deluge, Would that a famine had risen up to lay low mankind! Instead of thy bringing on the deluge, Would that pestilence had risen up to smite down mankind! It was not I who disclosed the secret of the great gods. I let Atrahasis (epithed of Utnapishtim) see a dream, And he perceived the secret of the gods. Now then take counsel in regard to him!’ Thereupon Enlil went aboard the ship. Holding me by the hand, he took me aboard. He took my wife aboard and made (her) kneel by my side. Standing between us, he touched our foreheads to bless us: 'Hitherto Utnapishtim (Noah) has been but human. Henceforth Utnapishtim and his wife shall be like unto us gods. Utnapishtim shall reside far away, at the mouth of the rivers!’ Thus they took me and made me reside far away, At the mouth of the rivers.

A flood is an overflow of an expanse of water that submerges land. The EU --Floods-- directive defines a flood as a temporary covering by water of land not normally covered by water. In the sense of “flowing water”, the word may also be applied to the inflow of the tide.

Flooding may result from the volume of water within a body of water, such as a river or lake, which overflows or breaks levees, with the result that some of the water escapes its usual boundaries.[3] While the size of a lake or other body of water will vary with seasonal changes in precipitation and snow melt, it is not a significant unless such escapes of water endanger land areas used by man like a village, city or other inhabited area.

Floods can also occur in rivers, when flow exceeds the capacity of the river channel, particularly at bends or meanders. Floods often cause damage to homes and businesses if they are placed in natural flood plains of rivers. While flood damage can be virtually eliminated by moving away from rivers and other bodies of water, since time out of mind, people have lived and worked by the water to seek sustenance and capitalize on the gains of cheap and easy travel and commerce by being near water. That humans continue to inhabit areas threatened by flood damage is evidence that the perceived value of living near the water exceeds the cost of repeated periodic flooding.

The word “flood” comes from the Old English flod, a word common to Germanic languages (compare German Flut, Dutch vloed from the same root as is seen in flow, float; also compare with Latin fluctus, flumen). Deluge myths are mythical stories of a great flood sent by a deity or deities to destroy civilization as an act of divine retribution, and are featured in the mythology of many cultures.

FROM AUSTRALIA

There is a legend…

…of a flood called the Dreamtime flood. Riding on this flood was the woramba, or the Ark Gumana. In this ark was Noah, Aborigines, and various animals. This ark eventually came to rest in the plain of Djilinbadu where it can still be found. They claim that the white mans story about the ark landing in the middle east is a lie that was started to keep the aborigines in subservience. This legend is undoubtedly the product of aboriginal legends merging with those of visiting missionaries, and there does not appear to be any native flood stories from Australia.

Floods are the most common and widespread of all weather-related natural disasters. Most communities in the United States have experienced flooding after spring rains, heavy thunderstorms, or winter snow thaws. Floods have enough power to change the course of rivers and bury houses in mud. And flash floods are the most dangerous kind of floods, because they combine the destructive power of a flood with incredible speed and unpredictability. Learn more about the force of flash floods when you read through this lesson.

FROM JOHNNY TRUANT

The Atrocity is lost along with its secret cargo and all aboard … shhhhhhhhhhhh … and who would ever know of the pocket of air in that second hold where one man hid, having sealed the doors, creating a momentary bit of inside, a place to live in, to breathe in, a man who survived the blast and the water anda instead lived to feel another kind of death, a closing in of such impenetrable darkness, far blacker than any Haitian night or recounted murder, though he did find a flashlight, not much against the darkness he could hear outside and nothing against the cold rushing in as this great coffin plummeted downwards, pressure building though not enough to kill him before the ship hit a shelf of rock and rested, knocks in the hull like divers knocking with hammersâ" though, he knows, there are no divers, only air bubbles and creaks lying about the future. He drops the flashlight, the bulb breaks, nothing to see anyway, losing air, losing his sense of his home, his daughters, his five blonde daughters and … and … he feels theshelf of rock give way and suddenly the ship rushes down again, no rock now, no earth, so black, and nothing to stop his final descent … (p. 299f.)

BY VICTORIA M. NOXON

Strongly built to protect it all,

Against a force that beckons to call.

Behind this wall, it’s easy to live.

No more to get with less to give.

In one instant, the flood rages in,

Attacking that wall, wearing it thin.

The onslaught becomes too much to bear.

Unstoppable, without warning, no time to prepare.

Pain flashes through the heart and soul,

Destroying what was once thought whole.

Sooner or later, the walls crumble and break,

Creating inside an unbearable ache.

All at once, never in small measures,

Memories invade of all past treasures.

No longer mine, they belong to another.

Why would I care? Why even bother?

Although the pain is less than before,

I beg to be saved from bearing it more.

I reach for the concrete and mortar of my mind.

In hopes to leave those memories behind.

Hastily rebuilding that wall of protection.

Each block in place, no room for rejection.

Built from tears and not from blood

Safe again from memories flash flood.

Blood has been harder to dam back than water.
Just when we think we have it impounded safe
Behind new barrier walls (and let it chafe!),
It breaks away in some new kind of slaughter.
We choose to say it is let loose by the devil;
But power of blood itself releases blood.
It goes by might of being such a flood
Held high at so unnatural a level.
It will have outlet, brave and not so brave.
weapons of war and implements of peace
Are but the points at which it finds release.
And now it is once more the tidal wave
That when it has swept by leaves summits stained.
Oh, blood will out. It cannot be contained.

You and the rest of your followers appear to beat around the bush so to speak in the question/answer sessions you've posted so far.

Has no one else really come out and asked about the Slender Man and your situation, or are you not answering those questions that refer to him by nameon purpose?

CANYOUSEETHEWORDS responds:

Evil does evil deeds but giving it a name only empowers it. What happened has happened and I do thank you all for expressing such concern and interest, but it’d be best for it to stay unnamed.

I’m looking to help those already involved; not pull more in.

Hi,
I believe as someone else said, that a lot of people may be familiar with the entity you seem to be plagued by. If it's the figure from your drawing of the pale faced man in your videos, we may know who it is.
Have you ever heard of the "Slender Man"? That is the "thing" that the guys in EverymanHYBRID seem to be being stalked by. The Slender Man is a fictitious character created on an online forum. However, it/he seems to show up in reality. Do you know what a tulpa is? It's a Tibetan thought form, meaning it's something that we create solely through the power of our minds, by believing in it. You said talking about "it" makes it worse. Maybe your thoughts and memories are causing "it" to show up. Have you seen things? Things that remind you of your past trauma? Also, ToTheArk that someone else mentioned is a character related to Marble Hornets, another video series detailing the presence of the Slender Man. I know this is a lot to take in at once. Feel free to ask questions if you decide to post and respond to this comment.

MANY DESPERATE PAKISTANIS STILL WAIT FOR AID

words018.jpg

DAIRA DINPANAH, Pakistan (AP) – A “never-ending disaster” is how a U.N. official is describing the situation in Pakistan after the devastating floods of this year’s monsoon season.

The U.N. says more than 3 million people have yet to receive the food aid they desperately need, while the Pakistani government says nearly 1 million have received no help of any sort. The country’s disaster agency is appealing to international donors to send tents, ambulances, mobile clinics and hygiene kits.

The lack of aid has led to anger against the already-fragile government and that’s further hampering relief efforts. The Red Cross has twice halted aid distributions after being confronted by mobs of people upset they were not getting enough.

Part of the problem is the scale of the crisis. The floods that began as a slow wave of destruction across Pakistan at the end of July, swamping as much as one-fifth of the country and leaving 8 million people dependent on aid, according to the U.N. and the number keeps growing.

November 1, 2010

If you are reading this, then the queue-function through the website finally kicked the post through. I gave myself some time to delay this message, just in case. Who knows? Maybe they would have let me come home without further incident. Since you are reading this, that is obviously not the case.

We all know that I do not have many friends here in Jersey. The one person who was outwardly friendly towards me ended up missing and I feel absolutely terrible. But I honestly do not believe that I did anything to warrant responsibility for Jessalyn’s disappearance. If anything, I have been trying and trying to help. But justice did not prevail. Maybe it’s better this way, behind bars, more or less. I no longer have to worry about choosing whether or not to take my medicine; they said they’ll make me take it there. I thought I was doing a lot better without it honestly. But I’m not the doctor.

My only friend here is gone and my entire family has long since passed. However lonely I am, I am extremely thankful for all of you, whether or not we spoke on sentimental and emotional terms, or you harassed me with pleas of twenty dollars.

Jeff, I am not spiteful. If there was any realized error on your part, I forgive you. However, I do not condemn you for your actions. You and Jessalyn shared a special love. You were completely in the right to do what you thought was best to help her. Obviously, I wasn’t clever enough myself to assist, only to harm. Everyone else, don’t take it out on him. I love Jessalyn, too. I know what he was trying to do. There was no way for him to know if I was being honest or not. Especially considering the gravity of the lie that was born when I told you all the story of my family and my journey up here.

The location was true. My education was true. The fact that my family wound up killed was true. But I wasn’t entirely descriptive and I will never feel reconciled with this feeling of dishonesty. That day, when I said that I arrived home from school to a half-acre of ash… wasn’t entirely accurate. I came home from my classes and everything was normal. My family’s house was older and relatively sizable. Made of fine, decaying lumber. Easily combustible. Upon setting foot within the threshold, I immediately felt something in the air. Something was terribly off. The house was silent. No sound from my siblings, no familiar clicking of my mother tending in the kitchen, no sound of shuffling from desk-to-shelf in my father’s study. And then I saw the bags.

Through the large sliding glass door, I saw them all, each strung from the old ash tree in the center of the backyard. I… I opened each one. I just had to be sure; you would understand. I was covered in a bit more and more of my family with each inquiry. I took the opened bags and went upstairs into my parent’s master bedroom and laid down on the gigantic bed. I placed each of the bags around me, resting one last time with my family. The bags that still held their contents bulged towards me in a comforting embrace.

I saw myself in the mirror. Perhaps my body was still in shock because I wasn’t crying, not yet. I was drenched in the blood of my siblings and parents and I couldn’t feel anything. I knew He did this to me. The one I had been seeing in my dreams since I was a baby. He wanted me out of the house. I don’t know why, but He willed me elsewhere. I burned my house. I set the fire. I don’t care who knows anymore because by this time, I’m sure they would have coerced this confession from me. By this time, I will have been (accurately) proven guiltyGUILTYGUILTYGUILTY.

I was alone and He told me to go north. There wasn’t any time for mourning. Hell, another plus of being institutionalized: I have all the time I want to cry now. And He can’t touch me.

I’m sorry, Jeff. I’m sorry, Vincent. I’m sorry Evan. Most of all, I’m sorry, Jessalyn. I’m sorry, “HYBRIDs” (still can’t get past the nickname). I’ve brought this upon myself. Maybe we’ll speak again someday. Probably not. Don’t follow my footsteps.

Be not like me. I am alone.

CANYOUSEETHEWORDS responds:

Answers. An explanation that adheres to my perception of time.

  • Fifth Untitled Video: “Hey, everyone. I’m here in Evan’s cold-as-shit basement, by the way. I’m freezing. But I just wanted to let you guys know that I’m quitting my website because I don’t really need it anymore. Because as you can see and as you know, I’ve obviously found people that finally understand me and people that can protect me, so there’s no one that I can really vent to about or anything.”
  • Steph delivers this message while Evan and Jeff goof around in the background (it’s adorable).
    • Minutiae: Posted January 13, 2011. The description reads:

Yesterday.

WELL, HELLO UNIVERSE.

It’s been a while.

Jeff told me about our current library fiasco. They’re going to go check out the one nearby tomorrow. I think Evan, Jessie, and I are going to, I don’t know. Watch movies. Talk. Make terrible food. Something lame, but fun, when they’re gone. It’ll be a decent change of pace.

I must admit, I do miss you all.

cthonius asks:

It would be a blatant lie to say we didn't miss you as well. Since this is in your ASK BOX, might as well have a question. Any more 'fun' anecdotes about the boys that have happened?

CANYOUSEETHEWORDS responds:

Aww. I can’t think of anything witty or humorous enough for you though, as far as “anecdotes” go… although, it’s funny watching Evan and Jeff argue over facts when they’re helping Alex with his homework.

“No, dude. Germany completely bombed Pearl Harbor in the Civil War…” ._.

wekeepeachotherhuman asks:

Just wondering, how is everyone doing after losing Sparky? Especially Alex. He wasn't doing too well in the beginning of the last video with that stereo incident.

CANYOUSEETHEWORDS responds:

He’s doing well enough. They buried her the next day.

Alex has been like that as long as I knew him. I tried to talk about it with the guys, but they don’t really know what to do. It really tears at Jeff, I know.

JOHNNY BOY HAD A LOT OF WILL. BUT THEY ALL BREAK IN THE END.

Seven days. I’ve been living in Hell for seven fucking days. These things. These fucking monsters. I don’t know what else to call them. God, he wont let me stop typing. “Tell them everything Johnny boy” he keeps saying. I can’t tell you, whoever you are. It hurts too much. So he can go the fuck to Hell where he belongs I aint telling you shit.

He cut off my right leg. “Disobedience has its consequences Johnny boy”, that fuck. He’s taken everything from me. I’m so numb on the inside. So dead. But he can still hurt me. And it hurts so much. He says I have to tell you what happened seven days ago.

God we were all just having dinner. My son, Aiden, my little boy. I can’t do this..

He took my tongue and my left leg. I feel like I am nothing. But I still hurt. Now he’s watching me type this. He’s still smiling. My son Aiden had been telling us of a man who had been watching him. A tall man. Without a face. I still cant believe he’s real. But he is. He’s the reason I can still type, and the reason I don’t pass out from the pain. Somehow he keeps me awake. His stare is almost soothing, like morphine. He must be a demon. Aiden had been seeing him almost everyday. And then we saw him. The day the Habit broke down our door. He grabbed Julie, my wife. I can still hear her crying in my head. I ran to help her but the Habit just kicked me across the room. IT WAS AWESOME HE FLEW LIKE TEN FEET, WENT THROUGH THE KITCHEN WALL HAHA. That was the Habit. I tried to get up but I saw the tall man, and I couldn’t stand. He was wearing a suit of all things. He just walked away. And Aiden went with him. I screamed for him. He didn’t even turn around. He just took my little Aiden. The Habit took us to the basement. He hurt Julie constantly; He didn’t even so much as scratch me. Just kept making me watch him and Julie. THE BITCH LOVED IT. Fuck this.

He cut off my genitals. Wont let me stop typing. When he was hurting Julie, I pleaded for him to stop. Then I pleaded for him to kill her. He just turned up our cd player. The same song, 19-2000. On the 5th day she died. Not even the tall man could keep her alive any longer. They say Im done. Whoever he wants me to write this to, I hope to God you don’t end up like us.

A LITTLE ONGOING EXPERIMENT OF MINE.

My name is Nicholas, I’m 20 years old and I live alone with my dog Chowder. Everyday I think about killing myself, I’ve tried 8 times in the last 3 days. But now my will is gone. The faceless man won’t let me, and The Habit just laughs when I try. They walk around my house like it’s theirs. The Habit leaves often to do god knows what, but the faceless man, he’s…. he’s always here. Sometimes I can’t see him, but I do see the wooden furniture rotting and I see the trees outside my house dying. I only catch glimpses of him sometimes, but he’s always watching me.

My parents are gone, so is my little sister, I can still smell their blood. The Habit made sure I watched my parents bleed, but my sister, Anna is just, gone. All I got left is Chowder. He’s kinda chubby but he’s awesome, always at my feet. I don’t know if that’s to comfort me or to hide from these things.

I found out today that my mother was raped in order to create me. I think I should be upset, but the faceless man calms me. I feel nothing but the deep emptiness because of him. Hollow and thoughts a bit scattered. The Habit tells me “Nick ol’ buddy, I’m gonna make you a fuckin animal. Something for your mother to be proud of.” He raped my mother. And he smiles at me.

Today The Habit killed Chowder. Chowder ran but I caught him. He’s too fat. He stuck his fingers in Chowders eyes and Chowder cried. The Habit pulled off his head like it was nothing, like his neck was made of tissue paper. I knew it was The Habit, but Chowder knew it was me, and he didn’t understand. Despite the faceless man and the calm emptiness, I cried.

The Habit says to me, “That a boy Nicky, you’ll be ready in no time”

I ask, “Ready for what?”

He says, “Ready to fight something”

I ask, “What am I going to fight?”

He says, “Someone you used to know Nick, I want to see how well he’s doing. Ya see he’s an experiment Nicky, like you.”

I am sorry whoever I am supposed to fight, but I’m strong as shit and big as a motherfucker. The Habit will make me kill you, I don’t want to, but I will. I tried to kill myself again 3 hours ago. He just laughed. The faceless man just watched.

THE LAST OF ROGERS NOTES CONCERNING A RATHER HANDSOME BEAST

Roger Paladino

Notes on: “THE HABIT”

July 25th 2004- I’ve found it. 5 years of work and I fucking found it. A survivor of one of this thing’s attacks. The cops chalked it up to her husband being on PCP, they always do, but I know better, and so did Monica. Monica Shwarts is the victim, says she heard him say something about a warehouse on a back road near 54th and Holloway while he was hurting her. Says she never told the cops, she had just remembered that detail the day we spoke, just came to her she said. So I check it out and bingo, the place has all the evidence I need: countless newspaper clippings of murders and terrorist attacks that date back even farther than I thought, not to mention the fucking Nazi propaganda for fucks sake. There were also a good amount of human remains, might still use it as it’s killing quarters, all the better to catch it in the act. I just have to be careful, this fucker is nasty.

July 28th 2004- I thought I might as well have my notes in one place get my shit together and make sure that I’m as prepared as I can be. So here’s the list.

- I assume it can possess one or multiple persons.

- Has little to no regard for the people that it inhabits. ( in some cases mutilating its host for intimidation or just some kind of sick pleasure)

- It has the ability to push the human body to its farthest limitations (speed, strength etc.)

- It will find a new shell if its current shell is fatally wounded. (Traumatic head wounds, spinal cord damage etc.)

- No way to forcibly remove the Habit from its shell

So that’s all I know about it so far. No doubt this is a dangerous one but I’ve dealt with nasty beings before. I’m bringing my nine millimeter berretta and some extra ammo, and a little surprise just in case I get into trouble.

July 30th 2004 [Final Entry] - I underestimated this thing. It was a fucking set-up from the beginning. I’ll spare the details but let’s just say I ended up in a bear trap lookin at the business end of a fucking fire axe. But even then I thought to myself “It’s ok I still have my ace in the hole.” I had my buddy from the PD, Ed Charleston, bring in a swat team after I told him what I found, thought he was going after a terrorist, and they arrived just in time.

I laid on the ground and that thing just looked at me and said, “Was it worth it, Roger?” And when light filled the windows behind it and they all blew out, I just smiled and said “Yup.” Problem was it didn’t get scared; it just smiled back and turned toward the light. I think that’s when the music started, I forget the guy who sings it but that song Superbeast just started playing from the speakers in the warehouse, fucking weird.

Anyway, this is what happened: it was so fast but I remember smoke filling the room as they came in, and I remember them yelling, demanding the weapons be put down. Then the inevitable, I heard some of the men chuckling to themselves real nervously. The Habit just started walking toward them, that’s when the shooting started.

I got the bear trap open just as bullets started flying, they hit everywhere but I stayed low, made for the door. Bullets don’t scare me, I’ve been shot at before, but what did scare me was the distinct sound of a fire axe slamming through helmets and the screams of confused men who were probably wondering why their teammates were shooting them. Poor fucks never had a chance.

I made my way outside and was taken to Ed; I was just about to tell him what he was up against when the front doors flew open. It walked out with about 3 officers escorting it. The Habit was pretending to be under arrest hands behind its back and that grin on its face. Ed wouldn’t listen, no one would, it didn’t take long for this thing to have everyone in the whole goddamn place killing each other. Some of them were just laughing like the swat team, others were begging to be stopped, and some were just tearing out their own eyes and throats. The music was so loud it almost muffled the screams, almost. I puked, and when I looked up the chopper was falling from the sky, but I saw something in the explosion. I saw it just for a second, but it looked like a person, easily twelve feet tall and thin, with arms as long as its body. I swear I saw it again wile typing this but it doesn’t matter. The Habit knocked me out and I woke up here, and here I’ll die.

So that’s basically what happened to me, I made sure that I left in “the cool parts” like it asked, not like I had a fucking choice. Funny thing is I really thought that this one was gonna put me on the map, oh well I always knew I was gonna die on one of these jobs but before I go I should mention to anyone else who might read this. The Habit is trying to make something, some kind of perfect shell to live in. The shell I saw it in died shortly after the fight but survived much more abuse than it should have. Just know, that if wounding its head or heart past a normal human beings limits doesn’t kill it, you should run the fuck away. Well it’s here now; guess this is it, whoever you are, good luck, and good bye.

-Roger Paladino

VIEW SOURCE QUEUE BLOG

You all may or may not have heard the big news. You all… have experienced something unique with us. You all are no strangers to the fascination that the beauty, strength, and sheer depth of water has always stirred in me, both in respect and fear, both as an artist and as a human being. When the world feels like it is crushing us, I have always embraced this fear, wielded it as my protection, harnessed that anxiety. There have been many instances of internal peril in our personal histories, but we have not yet drowned. We are still here, breathing. And, somehow, someway, miles away from home, I found love, I found a family, and I am going to be a mother. I don’t know how this will end. I couldn’t say. But I think we’re on the road to happiness. I know we are. I want to share with you something that Jessalyn encouraged me to write, now at which seems like an eternity ago, when I shared with her some of my feelings after a doctor’s visit. I’ve held it as a lantern at my darkest times. I know she’s with us, somehow, when I read it.

I know what you are facing feels insurmountable and untouchable as a challenge. Believe me, I do. I know that unending feeling of drowning and anxiety; I know how useless you feel and how helpless you feel against these struggles, both tangible and abstract. I promise you, one day this will all be absent, this will all be remedied. I know it, in the most irrational pit of my being, that one day, you will be okay. Those around you, as much as they could say for themselves and you for you, you will be okay. You will be content. You might even find happiness. I promise you this. You only need to hold on for this span. You always have been targeting it and focusing on it, whether you knew which form it would possess or not. You were always ready for this, perhaps not willing, but able. You will make this. You will achieve. You will be okay.

I don’t know why I felt the need to post this… I suppose I just felt inspired. I just feel, that in say five years’ time, we’ll be able to look back at our darkest days and smile in triumph. The de facto family, our child’s uncles, of course just as bumbling and useless, and the man I love, laughing at calamity. We will be happy.
